Truly a unique project, this 40-video series leverages a single content library for not just one, but THREE different audiences.
By strategically planning the content library, Idaho’s Secretary of State now has multiple comprehensive videos that it can use for public voter education, statewide poll worker training, and a joint partnership program with another state agency targeted at high school students getting ready to vote for the first time!
Setting Correct Expectations
The first and most public facing of the three audience applications is the simple user interface of the Idaho Voter Education Video Series. Hosted on the state’s voting information website, VoteIdaho.gov, the 40 videos are grouped into 8 topical categories to cover the full spectrum of voting information in easily digestible 2-3 minute episodes, so voters know what to expect from the voting process in their local jurisdiction.

Boosting Voter Confidence
Research has shown that well informed poll workers are a key to boosting voter confidence, so Idaho repurposed the 40 video library from the voter education series, adding multiple quizzes to each section, to create online “courses” for pollworkers. At the end of each successful course, logged in users can create and print a certificate for presentation to their poll worker trainer as proof of completion!
